ENTERPRISE ZONES

There are currently five areas in the Meramec Region that have been designated as Missouri Enterprise zones. By locating or expanding in these zones, businesses can realize thousands of dollars in tax and training credits.
  
Firms in an enterprise zone may be eligible for:
1. an investment tax credit of 10 percent of the first $10,000 in investment, 5 percent of the next $90,000 and two percent of excess over $100,000.
2. up to a $400 tax credit for each new employee hired;
3. up to a $400 employee training credit for each new employee;
4. up to a $400 credit for employees who are residents of the zone;
5. up to $400 per year for employees who are "unemployable";
6. up to half of the Missouri taxable income earned by a business within a zone shall be exempt from state income taxation for up to 10 years;
7. improvements to real property would receive a minimum 50% local abatement of Ad Valorem (property) taxes for at least 10 years.
MERAMEC REGION ENTERPRISE ZONES AND CONTACT PERSONS

Includes a portion of the city of Cuba. Other local incentives are also available.

Generally covers north and northwest Dent County.
Includes the city of Salem and the townships of West Spring Creek, Watkins, Norman, and Short Bend.

ROLLA CITY ENTERPRISE ZONE
Includes the northeast quadrant of the city, which includes two industrial parks on Interstate 44. Note: Improvements to real property would receive up to 100% local abatement of Ad Valorem (property) taxes for up to 10 years.
